    NLP?

Thursday, July 26, 2007, 08:19 PM CST [General]

I am learning in my hypnotherapy classes about NLP. I wish I had better speakers because I am having a problem paying attention LOL! It seems to me that NLP is a longer route to the subconscious. Am I wrong? I know this is a different method, using more inferred methods as well as the reframing, etc. It just seems like it's the long way around. Maybe for someone who isn't ready to completely face a bad situation from the past, or something in that manner.

I would LOVE to hear from NLP people!

    Hi Heather,

I liked your post. I tend to agree with you. NLP has it's uses but a well trained and experienced hypnotist can get along with out it. On the other hand, it does not hurt to have a little NLP up your sleave.

    Keep on blogging. :-)

    Hi Heather,

I took 120 hours of NLP and it has really been useful in my hypnotherapy practice. I don't use the processes so much as the rapport skills, body cues. The best thing I got out of it is the Outcome process. I start evey client with it.

    The question is...

What do you want,in one sentence stated in the possitive. You wouldn't beleave how this simple question stumps people. Everyone knows what they don't want.

They really have to be specific.. LIke If they say "I want to be happy".. What does happy mean to you...What would happy feel like.. what would you hear.. see..

I had a water phobia client who knew what he didn't want..panic, fear...So we worked on what he did want..slow heartbeat, normal breathing. Noticing his surroundings while in the pool...ect.

I find this process is helpful for all my clients.

    Have Fun,Lydia
