I had such an exhausting but very productive day! I had a garage sale. My main drive is to raise some $$ to help with my daughter's dental expenses. She needs oral surgery (she's 4 yrs old) and we have to pay it up front. I am trying to raise as much as I can and we are over halfway there.
Anyway, I had put out wire wrap jewelry I had made. It was the last of my stock, and I wanted of course for it to go. Many people asked if I made it and I told them yes, but I'm no longer making jewelry, I'm now a hypnotherapist. The look on their face was funny :) They asked me what I did and I told them. I passed out my cards to so many people! I even had a real estate lady that had stopped by and she's going to get me a list of office space in the area. For a little while, we were all talking in the garage, networking, having a great time! It was just so neat! I've never experienced it, but I do know that I talk to people more and that I'm happy. I talked about relieving smoking habits, anxiety, depression, getting unstuck, it was like a seminar in my garage LOL! Absolutely excellent!
I have one more day and I expect tomorrow to be even busier. I feel almost embaressed though since I have little left. I would actually not open, but we are trying to sell a tractor, and tomorrow will be good for that.
I'm so excited! I'm getting the papers they need all done tonight. I will be teaching Level 1 EFT at a local store I frequent. I know this store is also has a connection with a different store, but I'm sure that I can do both, once I start the first one :)
I actually think we'll get a turnout that will require more than one day. The store is fairly small so I'm not sure of the amount of people that they can have. I do know they hold classes on different things frequently. It's a great opportunity for me.
We had a great 4th of July with lots of fireworks. What made it even better was we watched the neighbors so it wasn't us blowing them off. Since my 4 year old is doesn't listen very well, I don't feel the need to do have dangerous anything around her.
We also traveled to a local place for a fireworks scene on the 3rd, but it was rained out. I haven't been out in awhile with other people to enjoy something so it was a nice (but short-lived) treat.
Today I was on a mission! We had 2 computers online, and one computer with a blown power supply (3 computers total). I went to the store to buy a power supply and they were out. The only thing in stock was ones that were too expensive for what I'm doing here. I did notice they had an empty computer tower (complete with power supply) for the price I was going to pay normally. I bought the case with the intention of just removing the power supply and installing it into the other computer. I found I really liked the look of this new case! I switched it all over and it's running great! This is the first time I've ever switched it all over. I also had installed a new hard drive that I bought previously since I knew the old one was going. After all was installed, setup, etc it runs great! I do have to say that not only did I do all of this, I cooked a full dinner too LOL!!
Now it looks a bit strange with 3 computers in a row. The next ones are going to be laptops. ;)
I had to give myself some amusement yesterday. I took a small box, wrote something on a piece of paper and put it in the box. On the larger areas of the box I wrote "Secret". On the sides where is opens, I wrote "Do not open!". I put in on the dining table and left it there.
The first reactions where of course "What's in the box?". My reply was my secret, don't open it. HA!! This definitely created intrigue. I wondered how long it would take before someone opened the box. My youngest is 4 and she was shaking it, looking at it, etc. She opened the box first. She was laughing away because it was "secret". The rest of the family was watching her intently LOL. She removed the paper and just looked at it. She folded it back up and put it back in the box giggling and put it on the table. No, she can't read. This drove the rest of the family crazy LOL!
Finally she opened it up again and my husband read the paper. Then it went around. Now, on the paper it said "You have opened the box and let the secret out". It was very amusing to see how everyone reactioned though!
Even though I am just beginning in this career, I really look forward to it. I am joining the AHA shortly, then onto other business necessities. I do have a question for all you out there. How have you filed as a business> I was a retail owner before, so I understand the taxes that way, but I am not clear if I need to form a business since this is individual and just income. I will of course be talking to a tax professional shortly, but I was curious how it usually goes.
